FAQ

Public universities as the name signifies are funded by the state (usually the same one where they are located) while a private university does not in normal course receive any funds from the state and are generally funded by endowments and donations. Students who want a wide choice of majors can find them at public universities. In a single large public university, undergraduates will be enrolled in academic programs ranging from traditional liberal arts to highly specialized technical fields.  Private colleges offer a smaller range of majors, but often have a particular academic focus. Some private colleges may emphasize the liberal arts or the fine arts, for instance, while others focus on engineering and computer science.
The extracurricular activities displays a person’s varied interests and helps in the overall development of the personality which universities abroad are very particular about. The extracurricular activities are given as much importance as the academics or the work experience. An applicant can be into sports, debates, music or community service etc. but again, the extent of the participation is very important. E.g. If the applicant is talking about sports then you must find out at what level of the sports has he actually played, is it a national level or a state or district level, or he plays it just as a hobby. Similarly the extent and the level must be noted for other activities as well. Community service activities are an important topic that the universities give a lot of emphasis on because they like individuals who are not just sensitive to themselves but to the others (would society be a better term) around them as well. Again the level and extent of the participation is very important. They will be evaluated on the basis of the kind of activity undertaken, amount of time devoted to the programme, your specific contribution or the roles and responsibilities handled and the end result of the programme. So greater the extent, the stronger the profile will be. E.g. the person who donates blood every six months will not be considered as a substantial community service. There should be some kind of regularity and a deeper involvement in the programme. as opposed to who might organize a blood donation camp) The top schools especially Yale prefers students who are strong in this back ground. An applicant should be able to convince the admissions committee regarding these activities as universities do not require applicants to furnish documents/certificates validating them
The work experience as also explained before is a very important measure of evaluation. It displays the person’s capabilities and progress till date. Every work profile is viewed differently because it depends upon factors like the extent of responsibility, extent of authority, level of client interactions, international exposure, number of teams handled, variety of projects handled, amount of budget handled. The greater the extent of the mentioned factors, the better the work experience will be considered to be. The diversity in work profile is also an important factor to be considered while evaluating a profile. The higher the diversity level, the stronger the profile would be. E.g. an applicant from a merchant navy background is very high on the diversity factor where the maximum number of applicants falls under the IT pool. The applicants which are from the IT pool will be judged on the mentioned factors above.
Fall is definitely the preferred intake there are various reason for the same. • Firstly, the number of universities offering a Spring intake are limited hence you would be restricted to a small set of schools to select from. • Secondly, the Spring admissions are much more competitive as compared to the Fall admissions due to the limited intake.
We don’t Ghost-write mainly because it is not in your interests for three main reasons:- - It is illegal and unethical. - Today, the essays written by the client for his GRE or GMAT are made available to the colleges for which he has applied. The college will compare the level of English in the essays with level of the standardized test. Therefore, it will be in the client's interest to provide university-specific drafts. - Another reason to avoid ghost writing is that your personality may be missing from ghost-written compositions. During the interview, there may be contradictions and due to these it will be apparent to the admissions committee that someone else has written your documents. This may lead to your candidature being rejected. In a nutshell, in the process of getting the write-ups written from scratch by an editor, you as the client are in danger of losing both your credibility and individuality.
Yes, our team is all over the world and many of our consultants travel regularly. If you are ever both in the same city at the same time and are both able to meet face to face – sure! However, in most cases, you’ll find it preferable to work virtually with your consultant, for the sake of efficiency. Perhaps importantly, though, we don’t chose consultants based on geographic location, we select the best consultants in the world, period, regardless of where they live. The graduates of the world’s top institutions happen to end up in cities like New York, San Francisco, Chicago, etc. The key – as far as we see it – is to connect the best consultants directly to you, the client. A virtual connection with a top-tier expert is a million times better than an in-person meeting with a lesser caliber mentor. This is not really debatable. Another perk is the timezone advantage. We’re working when you’re sleeping. It’s extremely efficient.
Our clients are matched with our consultants based on an algorithm we’ve developed over the years. We look closely at your questionnaire and your resume, and we determine which consultant is best able to turn your particular case into a successful outcome. Sometimes we weigh your target school list, other times we look at your career arc/desired industry, other times we look at intangible factors. We take the matchmaking process very seriously and ultimately we have found that the best matches are made between clients and consultants who feel comfortable working with one another. This is what yields the best results, which is ultimately what we are focused on.
