Harvard university

Harvard was established in 1636 and is the oldest institution of higher education in the United States. It has more than 2000 faculty members and a living alumnus of more than 400,000 across the globe. This means that the university is globally acclaimed and links you to a gigantic network of experts. This global network is not just expansive and diverse, it also includes some of the most famous personalities on the planet. 48 Nobel Laureates, 32 heads of state and 48 Pulitzer Prize winners have studied at Harvard University. If that was not enough, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, legendary cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and actor Natalie Portman, are also part of the university’s notable alumni. 

Along with its alumni, Harvard also boasts some of the best faculty, research centres and campuses in the world. The Harvard Library is the largest academic library in the world and includes 20.4 million volumes, 180,000 serial titles, an estimated 400 million manuscript items. The university’s history and its various schools 

The university is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Its name ‘Harvard’, comes from the college’s first benefactor, the young minister John Harvard of Charlestown. When he passed away in 1638, he left his library and half his estate to the institution. 

Harvard University has 12 degree-granting schools in addition to the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. Over the course of a few decades, the University has grown from nine students with a single master to an enrollment of more than 20,000 degree candidates including undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The twelve schools are-

  4. Harvard School of Dental Medicine
  5. Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences

  11. Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health 
  12. Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences 
  13. Harvard Divinity School
  14. Harvard Graduate School of Education 

Each of these colleges have their own campus, courses, scholarships and services.
